Mark has been with the organization since February 2002 and has been instrumental to the development and ongoing success of S+SA Architects.
During this time he has designed and delivered projects in the residential, healthcare, commercial, health, sports and leisure sectors, securing commissions for the company through winning design competitions and also gaining industry standard awards for excellence in project delivery.
Mark gained a BA Hons Degree at the University of Nottingham, studying energy efficient design under the tutelage of Robert and Brenda Vale, before going on to undertake a post-graduate Diploma in Architecture at the Edinburgh College of Art. During his time in Edinburgh Mark focused on Urban Design and Master Planning, gaining a bursary to go on to complete a Masters Degree exploring the Architecture profession’s support of ESD (Education for Sustainable Development) initiatives in compulsory education.
During his professional career prior to joining S+SA Architects, Mark spent three years working in the drawing office of the Estates Department of Pinderfields (now Mid Yorks) NHS Trust and two years working for a large major / internationally acclaimed architectural practice in central London.
In addition to his cross-sector architectural duties, Marks current role also includes business development, quality assurance and HR responsibilities.
