Project: The design and delivery of contemporary social housing – 6 Apartments and 10 dwellings

The project provides 16 new dwellings of mixed tenure. The site layout was very linear exempting us from using any typical building layout. We designed layouts to be staggered to use spaces more effectively.
The area’s original housing is predominantly 2 stories however it also has 3 storey flats. By placing the 3 storey apartment element centrally to the scheme a pivot element is created off which the housing elements are stepped to each side.
The designs were designed to achieve ‘very good’ on the Eco-Homes rating.
