This new timber framed 110,000 sq ft low carbon, environmental store replaced the old tired supermarket on Wragby Road, Lincoln. In addition, the development offers a six island PFS, a terrace of non food Retail Units, enhanced pedestrian linkages including a public plaza area, alfresco retail kiosks, an outdoor gym and children's play area.
The client selected this store as their 'Store of the Future'. It has been used as a live trial for many new initiatives such as interactive shopping and the 'Click & Collect zone' down the side of the building. The development interacts with its environment offering links to the adjacent Darwin Fields and spaciously landscaped car park. Tesco were keen to get the local community involved and local schools helped design the five sculptures around the site.
The store was nominated for the Store Design of the Year awards at the Oracle Retail Week awards 2015.
