2023 year in review
As we come to the end of the year we’ve been reflecting on 2023. It has been a dynamic and bustling period for our practice, marked by growth and noteworthy achievements.
The expansion of our team has been a significant highlight, with the addition of six new members. Each individual has brought a distinct set of skills and innovative ideas, contributing to the future of the practice.
In our healthcare team, 2023 has been a remarkable chapter, with the successful completion of eight care homes—comprising both new constructions and refurbishments. Our residential team have provided substantial support on various masterplanning schemes, conceptualising and laying out over 3000+ dwellings, from strategic submissions through to planning & technical support encompassing changing regulations. A particular highlight this year was the completion of Stonebridge Mills showcasing the transformation of a 19th-century cotton mill into modern family homes.
The retail sector has thrived as well, with over 100,000 sqft of new retail space delivered, spanning new constructions, extensions, and conversions. A notable achievement includes surpassing the milestone of 250 completed new space projects for Tesco, covering a vast expanse of over 10 million sq ft. throughout our time working with them.
Our commitment to environmental responsibility has been a focal point throughout the year. Initiatives such as obtaining ISO 14001 certification following a thorough audit in September and achieving Planet Mark certification earlier in the year underscore our dedication to continually enhancing our environmental performance.
Recognising the importance of using our business as a force for good, we’ve really ramped up our social value initiatives. This year, our community involvement, provision of work placement opportunities, participation in career events, and the successful completion of the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge—raising over £3500 for Leeds Hospitals Charity—underscore our commitment to making a positive impact.
