Creating a sense of place
in urban spaces

Conservation & Heritage

The conservation of historic buildings is key to the fabric of our urban spaces and are crucial in creating a sense of place. We believe in enjoying historic buildings in a sensitive manner, in some instances adapting and reimagining these to reflect the changing needs of users as well as restoration and preservation projects.

Our past experience within conservation architecture includes works on Grade I & II listed buildings and developments within Conservation Areas, Green Belt, Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, National Parks and World Heritage Sites.

Recent Projects

S+SA Architects offer a personal level of service whether we are working on national large-scale projects or local projects closer to home. We endeavour to create long-lasting partnerships with all of our clients, so they know they can rely on us to provide the service they need.

Our Conservation & Heritage Expert Chris Paraskos RIBA

Chris joined the practice in 2018 and has gained more than 8 years’ experience working within the Residential, Retail and Commercial sectors and more recently within Healthcare and Leisure. A large proportion of his architectural education was undertaken part-time whilst he worked full-time within professional practice.  Chris registered with RIBA as a Chartered Architect in 2018.

Whilst architecture is his main role, Chris has also delivered interior and furniture design projects within the retail sector for a number of household names, with projects undertaken in locations as far away as Russia.  Within S+SA, Chris primarily focuses on the practice’s residential projects, taking them from inception through to completion on site. Chris enjoys working within all sectors of architecture.

Sustainability is a key area of interest for Chris having completed a Master’s degree in Adaptable Architecture to progress sustainable building strategies and the future of building materials in modular construction.  An aspiration is to undertake his first Passive House project when the opportunity arises.
