Project Overview

Project: Oatlands Park Hotel – Proposed Development of New Health Spa, Conferencing Facilities and Guest Accommodation
Client: The Oatlands Park Hotel
Status: Planning Consented

S+SA Architects were commissioned to design bespoke new facilities for a prestigious hotel in Surrey comprising a Health and Fitness Spa, Conference Centre and additional hotel guest rooms for an under-utilised area of the site occupied by a former stable block.

Our Input

Observing the heritage restrictions applied to the site – the existing hotel buildings and the site/gardens are subject to separate Grade II listings. S+SA developed a sympathetic design solution based on the courtyard layout of the original stable block.

Our Value

We were able to incorporate the heritage and planning constraints rising from two separate pre-application consultations with the Local Authority whilst exceeding the client’s accommodation requirements as stipulated on the initial design brief.

Disability Action Yorkshire have a long relationship with SSA-Architects which began with the design of our residential home for younger adults with physical disabilities when they impressed us with their commitment to ensuring that the design aided full accessibility and independence.  They have remained firm supporters of and amongst other events run an annual bike ride raising much needed funds to support our work.  They show a genuine interest in our work and in the ongoing needs and aspirations of disabled people.  We consider SSA-Architects to be true and valued friends of the charity.
